Job description
We are currently seeking a Communications and Climate Advisor for our international and diverse Climate Diplomacy Team to support the Caribbean Climate Envoy with communications and adviser tasks relating to SIDS sustainability and planning.
Your Responsibilities
- You will mainly provide remote communications support to the Climate Envoy during the following events/activities:
- UNFCCC meetings (October)
- CARICOM Meeting (October)
- PreCOP (October)
- COP30 (November)
- Besides these events you will respond to any ad-hoc requests from the Climate Envoy that arise.
- You will also lead/provide support to any communications and/or event related deliverables including but not limited to the development of communications strategies, communications support for events, webinars, and workshops, and facilitation of media training as outlined in project scopes.
- You will work closely with the SIDS Team based in Trinidad and Tobago as well as with the Climate Analytics Communications Team.
Your profile
You will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:
- Background in environmental studies, international relations or related field
- Work experience in the field of climate change preferably with SIDS
- Experiences with managing and implement strategic communications efforts that advance the priorities of your principal
- Experience with event planning and facilitation efforts, including webinars and conferences
- Experience in the preparation of briefs, strategy documents and talking points in support of a Senior Official.
- The world of diplomacy is very dynamic, with last-minute changes and uncertainties happening rather frequently. This does not unsettle you, but you are excited by the challenge and driven by the idea to make a difference.
- Our working language is English, therefore excellent English writing and verbal skills are necessary. Basic German skills are welcome, but not required, other language skills are an asset
