Job description
We are looking for a HR Generalist to undertake the critical role of supporting our people and teams. The HR team is based in Berlin but provides HR support to our multiple offices and teams across the globe, dealing with different legislative and cultural aspects of Global team administration.  Our team has grown significantly over the last years and our Human Resource department plays a pivotal role in ensuring that our structures and processes service the needs of our people and the organization at large. In this role you will be expected to undertake both the day to day HR Generalist functions of contract administration, recruitment, on/offboarding and payroll as well as have the opportunity to contribute to our HR project work on policies, improved processes and building culture.

Your tasks
HR Administration (40 %)
●    Create contracts
●    Support the staff in our offices worldwide in HR-related tickets, such as document creation, procedural questions etc.
●    Research and answer HR-related legal and procedural questions

Recruiting (25 %)
●    Coordinate recruitment processes in collaboration with the hiring departments, including supporting the Job description development, advertising positions, monitoring applications, communicating with candidates, taking notes at interviews and collecting references.

Onboarding and offboarding (10 %)
●    Set up new users in our HR system (Personio)
●    Provide an introduction to HR systems and processes to new staff members
●    Conduct exit interviews with staff members leaving the organization
●    Ensure proper offboarding procedures are followed by all stakeholders, such as accounts being closed by the IT department

Payroll (10 %)
●    Prepare payroll for the Australia office in collaboration with our external payroll provider

Project work (15 %)
●    Support HR projects in close cooperation with the Head of HR such as...
●    Iteratively improve HR-related structures and processes
●    Maintain and update internal knowledge base
●    Automation, templates, fine tuning of HR tools etc.
Your profile
Essential Criteria
●    Experience in a HR Generalist role
●    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A certification in Human Resources or Business Administration will be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree providing relevant experience requirements are matched
●    Excellent written and spoken communication skills in German (C1 or higher) 
●    Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (C1 or higher)
●    Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels and cultures
●    Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.
●    Existing work permit or EU citizen

Desirable
●    Some knowledge of employment laws and regulations
●    Experience working in a nonprofit or project-based environment
●    Passion for environmental sustainability and knowledge of climate change issues
